# Your settings

> Where everything lives in Settings, on your phone and on the web: mentors, reminders, the app's look, your data and your subscription.

Settings now has fewer, clearer sections. Everything about your mentors sits in one place, and the things you rarely touch sit at the bottom.

Settings on the web. Each section opens in its own pane.

## On your phone

Tap the profile icon, then **Settings**.

| Section | What's inside |
| - | - |
| **Profile** | Your name and photo. **People** appears here once Life Note has found someone you write about. |
| **Mentors** | Main Mentor, Default journal responders, Guidance Mode, **Tell your mentors about you**, and **Manage Blocked Mentors**. |
| **Journal Reminder & Notification** | **Manage Notifications** opens your reminders and everything else Life Note can send you. |
| **Share Life Note** and **Gift Life Note** | Your referral link and how many friends have joined, plus a gift for someone else. |
| **Support** | **Send Feedback** goes straight to a person. |
| **Security** | Face ID or fingerprint unlock, on phones that have it. |
| **Appearance & language** | System, Light or Dark, your **Language**, and the **App Icon**. |
| **Community** | Our Discord and Instagram. |
| **Legal** | Terms and Conditions, and the Privacy Policy. |
| **Account** | Billing, **Import & export**, **Log out** and **Account Management**. |

>
> This layout comes with Life Note 1.0.116. If your Settings looks different, update the app from the App Store or Google Play.

### Your subscription

If you subscribe through your phone, **Billing** shows your plan. **Manage subscription** takes you to the App Store or Google Play, where you can change or cancel it. If you pay monthly, **Switch to yearly billing** appears under Billing.

### Import & export

Importing and exporting happen on the web, where there is room for a file. **Import & export** on your phone gives you the address: **Copy link**, or **Send to my computer** to send it to yourself from your phone's share sheet. ### Log out

**Log out** now asks once before it signs you out, and shows the email you can sign back in with.

## Choose your app icon

Go to **Settings → Appearance & language → App Icon** and pick one of eight. **Night** is the default. The others are Morning sky, Forest, Midnight, Dusk, Nap, Spellbook and Classic. Your phone may show a short confirmation when the icon changes.

## On the web

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Settings**. The same menu has **Guide**, **Share Life Note**, **Join Discord** and **Logout**.

| **Preferences** | **Language** first, then Main Mentor, Default journal responders, Guidance Mode, About You and Blocked Mentors. |
| **Notifications** | Journal reminders, Sunday Letter, Mentor check-ins, and Tips & milestones. See [Reminders & Notifications](https://guide.mylifenote.ai/en/advanced/reminders.md). |
| **Share Life Note** | Your referral link, how many friends have joined, and **Gift Life Note**. |
| **Privacy** | **Privacy Lock**: a PIN for this computer. |
| **Theme** | The look of Life Note on the web. |
| **Community** | Our Discord and Instagram. |
| **Billing** | Your plan, your payment method, and canceling or resuming. |
| **Data Management** | **Import**, **Export**, and **Connect Life Note to your AI**. |
| **Account Management** | Your name and email, and **Delete Account**. |

Each section has its own address, so you can bookmark one. **mylifenote.ai/settings#notifications** opens Notifications directly.

### Keyboard shortcuts

Press **?** on any page while you are not typing, or click **Keyboard Shortcuts** under the Settings section list, to see every shortcut. **Ctrl + A** (**⌘ + A** on a Mac) opens Theme.
